See You Soon

I kept coming that way again  Everytime on a false pretense  Hoping I might bump into you Or atleast watch you pass thence From across the other side of road And if your glance fell on me I’d probably act unfamiliar And while you’ve walked a distance from me I’d turn around and scan you through  To take pride in admiring you. In actual fact If you ever crossed my road I would pretend,  I never hoped Like a flower awaiting sunshine I’d smile and wave at you I’d ask “How have you been!” And act surprised at your appearance  Then quietly I would place My charm inside of you So, it’s not just me But you are dreaming of me too.                                                     -VAISHALI

A Broken Aviary

Neatly furled my blanket up Uncovered not an inch Shh! Don’t say you saw me Hiding under the bench Slipping behind the walls Reached the door and fell escape If you pass through my cell Don’t stop for a glance Don’t search for my robe I kept it for a wash Don’t peep through that vent I went outside for a walk It’s my season, it’s my reign A sage made the forecast No gale, no ghost in the dark Could scare me, nor the overcast Ask the watchman near the post He manifested my way towards the forest And if you’re gutted of my act Scan the time on the dead clock It ticked for me, though haunted You can find my shoes missing from  the rack Ofcourse, I wore it before I left Pardon me please! I will soon be back It’s just the weather outside here I will return after a short trek                                             - VAISHALI ~DENOTATION ~ 1. Aviary : a large cage, building,...

Venomous Stars

Like a lost sailor  I’ve been  Sailing in the vast ocean With no seashore to be seen Then a tiny island Came into my vision A place where I got refuge And my journey,  it’s resolution  The season of my life When my joy and despair drizzle along It’s the city where I was born A place where I may or may not belong I’ve certainly been a wanderer  And I might continue to be Yet the spirits of this city Keeps claiming its authority on me Whatever be the episode of my life Whether or not I stay nearby It keeps pulling me back Even if I don’t want to try Not that I hate coming home It has been my best spot for a staycation There resides my beautiful memories  And a memorial of my deepest pain Ahead of time, it presented my fate Afraid yet willingly I took the deep dive  Plenty of curses were casted on my clay And I learned to beautify my battles and thrive The place where I lost and found myself Not once but everyday An endless chain repeating itself Trying t...

INEVITABLE ANECDOTE

Although this poem has a title of its own, it has achieved an identity unique to its subject. It was penned by me on April 30, 2020, and then I forgot about it. Hence, I’d call it "a piece that got lost". Don’t wait for me  The mirror won’t reflect thee  Thy affection and thy simplicity  Has faded long back The one you’ve been waiting for  In this path of reflections  Would not return the same  A few colors disappeared  With new colors emerging  Emerges a new person from the glass Long gone the politeness  Now turned a fearless maniac  A rebellion by mind  Not born the way it sounds Though not the innocent but Came a wiser one out of the mirror.                                                       - VAISHALI  -DENOTATION – 1. Inevitable : certain to happen 2. Anecdote : a short en...

An Insignificant Orison

Untainted lies my fondness Quietly inside my diary Neither concealed nor revealed  You are my detectable lie  I wouldn’t have cared  To become a flawless solitaire  Or even if I could, to become An enchanted shameful affaire I am, but an unsettled wind That can never be destined  To a place or a being And it all transforms into a deceit As you’ve long been stuck in my mind This is but my blameless sin Where I’d like to lose than win As I desire not for being with you  But to be a lone wolf                                                       -VAISHALI   -DENOTATION- 1. Orison : a prayer 2. Untainted : not contaminated, polluted, or tainted 3. Solitaire : a single gem set alone in a piece of jewelry  4. Enchanted : placed under a spell 5. Shameful : worthy of or causing shame or disgrace 6. Deceit : the acti...

An Unuttered Protest

A pretty girl on a journey Travelling across countries Determined she seems To change the course of her destiny If you ask how I know her She is a friend of mine Or precisely if I spell One dearest friend of mine I saw her picture the other day I wished to be a part as I gleamed With a wonder and a thunder I felt heartbroken yet I beamed It's difficult to determine Exactly the way I am feeling As she goes without a word Should I be upset or be wishing As I'm returning to the city where we met As a new year gift, that's all I wanted to say But probably she was too busy To even wish a happy birthday The friend that we were once Sharing everything with each other How the days have turned We hardly know what's up with the other While it's easier to digest The reason behind someone to keep hiding But it's difficult to engulf The fact that she kept on lying Is it just me or she feels miserable too Is it just me or she've been betrayed ...

MY SPRINGFUL AUTUMN!

You’re the reflection of my soul And the one who makes me complete.  You’re the Angel who corrects me when I’m wrong And care for me when I’m sick. You’re that magic spell who finds me when I’m lost And loves me when I’m sad. You’re that coach who’s there to see me win  And there to hold me when I fall. You’re that admirer of mine who laughs at my jokes  And strokes me gently when you are proud. You’re that light who brightens my day  And enlighten me when you are away. You’re that autumn in my heart which brings falls  Yet never fades away.                                                   -VAISHALI
